General Info
The Sharingan is the Dōjutsu of the Uchiha Clan. The eye comes in a total of three-tomoe, with each of its abilities growing stronger with the number of tomoe that are gained. Initially, the Sharingan must be unlocked under a very stressful circumstance; however, for the following tomoe, they can be unlocked through intense training, stressful circumstances, or a combination of both. Among its abilities, the eye possesses the ability to see the flow of chakra. It is a useful supplementary tool that allows an Uchiha to tell if their ally is in a Genjutsu and see chakra as a color; however, this ability is the only constant between those who wield the eye. For this reason, this thread is here to supply information, insight, and rules to the other areas of the Sharingan's abilities. There is also a more advanced version of the Sharingan that can be gained after the three tomoe which is the Mangekyou Sharingan. In order to access this, the Uchiha needs a strong emotional trigger during a stressful situation that either reaffirms or changes their outlook on life.
The Mangekyō Sharingan is an advanced form of the Sharingan that has only been activated by a handful of Uchiha. They are noted to be the "heavenly eyes that see the truth of all of creation without obstruction". A Mangekyō Sharingan is distinguished from a normal Sharingan by its appearance, which changes the form of the tomoe seal. The exact design differs for each user, though all resemble pinwheels. The Mangekyō Sharingan retains all of the Sharingan's generic abilities, such as casting genjutsu and the ability to distinguish chakra. In addition to these, the Mangekyō grants powerful abilities that differ from user to user, though abilities may be similar in nature; both Sasuke and Itachi have access to Amaterasu's flames, though the extent to which they can use them may differ. The abilities of a Mangekyō Sharingan may not even be the same for both of a single user's eyes, as Itachi has Amaterasu in one eye and Tsukuyomi in another. Once a user awakens the Mangekyō in both eyes or the ability of both of their eyes, they are able to perform Susanoo.
The Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities drain a considerable amount of chakra when performed. The eye's usage and activity also place a great strain on the user themselves, wearing at their body and causing deterioration to their vision until eventually over-usage leaves them blind though this is just for the remainder of the thread and is not a permanent loss (as such there is no need for the EMS).
Eye of Insight
The Eye of Insight is the part of the Sharingan's abilities that grant the shinobi increased clarity and perception, which can be used to perceive the movements of objects and people with great "insight". Subtle details can also be identified, granting the wielder of the eye the ability to read lips or mimic things like pencil movements. In combat, this allows them to see fast-moving objects and, once fully developed, offers some amount of predictive capabilities: they can anticipate an opponent's next move based on the slightest muscle tension in their body and act accordingly to dodge or intercept. Although a Sharingan user can see these things, they also need the physical ability to actually act on the visual information. The user is able to copy almost any Jutsu they see, memorizing ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near perfect accuracy. They can then either perform that Jutsu or modify it to suit their needs. Again, Sharingan users need the prerequisite abilities before they can mimic a Jutsu they have seen, and for that reason, they cannot, for example, reproduce Kekkei Genkai abilities they do not have or nature transformations they haven't learned to perform. It should be noted that normally after first acquiring this power, the user's enhanced perception will throw off their timing, causing them to over-stress their bodies from trying to keep up the increase reaction time. Additionally, assuming that the user is aware they have awakened the Sharingan, they are thereafter able to freely use it. When first awakened each Sharingan usually will have only one tomoe, through training and continued use the Sharingan will develop a second tomoe and then, upon full maturation, a third. All the Sharingan's abilities are available to the user from its earliest stage, but with greater development comes greater potency of those abilities.
Eye of Hypnotism
The Eye of Hypnotism is the part of the Sharingan that is attributed to its Genjutsu capabilities. It is with this ability that the wielder of the Dōjutsu is able to cast the Sharingan's unique brand of hypnosis, which involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the target through eye contact. Through the Saimingan, one is also able to cast Genjutsu techniques unique to the Sharingan. They can also cast generic Genjutsu whose effects may include either paralysis, sleep, or replaying memories to another. One's strength with the eye of hypnotism, like its counterpart, is not constant, for it is variable from person to person. One of the variables that will play into a person's skill with the eye of hypnotism is their skill with the eye of insight, for if you have access to the other, the abilities of the hypnotism will decline. Moreover, the eye of hypnotism will also be heavily dictated by one's Genjutsu specialty, and it will suffer even more depending on where the specialty is placed.
Rules
Jutsu Copying - When copying other techniques, you are limited to what you know, meaning there may be things that you can't copy (kkg, Hijutsu, Hiden), and if you can copy something, you may not have it at full strength. If you do copy a technique, though, that Jutsu can only be used in the thread you have copied it in. If you choose to keep that Jutsu, then you would have to purchase it or create your own version of it. All Sharingan copied Jutsu will cost half EXP, because of the Sharingan's abilities.
Sharingan Speciality Rank: Just as you would with your "Ninjutsu" or "Genjutsu" specialty sections of your character app, you'll do with the Sharingan. Your skill level in the Sharingan is how we determine your ability to use the Sharingan while the rank of your character determines the amount of Tomoe they can start out with max. Ranking of the Sharingan is One Tomoe(D) Two Tomoe(C) and Three Tomoe(B). As stated in the paragraph above, through training and continued use, the Sharingan will develop a second tomoe and then, upon full maturation, a third. All the Sharingan's abilities are available to the user from its earliest stage, but with greater development comes greater potency of those abilities.
One Tomoe (D) - A D ranked shinobi will have a One Tomoe Sharingan and because the starting rank for the specialty would be E, they would only have just awakened the Doujutsu, their clarity would be heightened and they would be able to keep track of certain fast-moving objects or people, however, they would have trouble adjusting to the new sight. Additionally, the abilities of the Sharingan in One Tomoe stage aren't as refined and wouldn't be as "clear" or "slowed down" as the other levels. Possibly even being "blurry" in terms of heightened sight and clarity. A shinobi with a One-Tomoe Sharingan's can copy E-D ranked Jutsu, if they have the prerequisite abilities to do so, such as the right elemental nature. Meaning, You'll need the elemental release and any other requirements the jutsu may need. Additionally, a one tomoe Sharingan can only cast\reflect E-D ranked Genjutsu.
Two Tomoe(C): - A C ranked shinobi can start with a Two-Tomoe Sharingan. albeit their starting eye of insight and eye of hypnotism ranks will still be E. These shinobi have trained their body and mind along with their Sharingan allowing them to enhanced their already heightened sight even further. The Sharingan's level of clarity and perception at this stage has become more refined than the one tomoe Sharingan, with their enhanced vision no longer being "blurry". The fast-moving object would seem slower and clearer than before, allowing them to react much faster than before. Unlike a One-tomoe Sharingan, someone who awakens their second tomoe isn't held back by the sudden increase of clarity and perception, having become used information overload. A shinobi with a two tomoe Sharingan is capable of copying E-C rank Jutsu and cast\reflect E-C ranked Jutsu with ease, as long as they have the innate ability to do so.
Three Tomoe(B): The climax to the Uchiha clan's Kekkei Genkai is a fully matured Three Tomoe Sharingan, with this stage of the Sharingan there is no hindrance in the abilities it grants. The shinobi are capable of using the Sharingan to its full extent, allowing them to copy E-B ranked Jutsu or cast\reflect E-B ranked Genjutsu with little to no effort, albeit only if they have the proper requirements to do so. Additionally, an Uchiha with a three tomoe Sharingan can keep their doujutsu active indefinitely, with little consumption of their chakra. The doujutsu's ability in this stage is seen in full effect as it allows the shinobi to see the slightest of movements their opponent's make, see chakra in color, or cast genjutsu in a moments notice.
