Kirigakure no Jutsu [Hidden in the Mist Technique]
Rank D | Specialization Ninjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Very Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 1 |
Description
The Hiding in Mist Technique is a specialty of the ninja from Mizu no Kuni, where one causes a mist to spring forth by either lifting up water from a pre-existing source, or using the moisture found elsewhere (or even creating their own moisture. They can then go in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It cannot fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and/or Rinnegan users (or other Dojutsu that can see chakra but does not give x-ray vision) will see the mist colored by their opponent's chakra, which effectively hides the user from the Dojutsu.
Magen: Shōkan Dōro [Demonic Illusion: Redemption Road]
Rank D | Specialization Genjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Very Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 3 |
Description
Using Kirigakure jutsu as a conduit the user of this jutsu will lace the mist with their chakra. Once the mist is laced with their chakra it becomes a conduit for the Genjutsu which the user can then trigger with the Ram hand seal. Once the user uses the hand seal he activates his chakra within a specific portion of the mist to target either a target or even multiple targets so long as they are within the mist they can be affected. Theoretically this jutsu can be used to ensnare any and everyone within the mist under the Genjutsu though a skilled user can target specific people if they so choose. The Genjutsu itself is a basic one causing the target(s) to relieve trying times within their past. The illusion will break if the targets Kai's out of it or someone helps them or they feel a great amount of pain, however the mist must be dealt with in order for the target(s) to not get trapped again. Those stuck within this jutsu are not paralyzed and are able to move throughout the mist, albeit plagued by the darkest memories of their life.
Kirigakure: Kori Shinchū no Jutsu [Hidden in the Mist: Sly Mind Affect]
Rank C | Specialization Genjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 4 |
Description
Using the Kirigakure jutsu as a conduit the user will saturate the water within the msit with chakra making the mist into a container for the Genjutsu. Once activated the Genjutsu will affect anyone that the water particles happen to make contact with including allies. This technique allows the user to change the enemies sense of direction as they see fit. When this technique was evoked, the enemy was forced to walk around continuously in circles by making it seem as if they're walking straight to their desired destination. This Genjutsu can be dispelled though pain or Kai however if the mist is not dealt with the genjutsu can be reactivated by the user without recasting the jutsu.
Magen Jibun [Demonic Illusion Oneself]
Rank C | Specialization Genjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 2 |
Description
Using Kirigakure no jutsu as a conduit the user of this jutsu will lace the mist with their chakra. Once the mist is laced with their chakra it becomes a conduit for the Genjutsu which the user can then trigger with two hand seals, which are the monkey and the ram. Once the user uses the hand seal the will activate their chakra within the mist and anyone within the mist would be caught within the Genjutsu though more adept users can pinpoint targets within the mist leaving allies unaffected. This causes the user to see themselves or the user within the mist. This jutsu has many uses for one innovative enough to utilize it. This jutsu can only be canceled by two means. either getting rid of the mist as it requires constant contact to keep the user under, or "killing" the illusion, though the second way does not remove the Genjutsu permanently as so long as the mist is their the user can re-activate the genjutsu with the two hand seals with no further chakra cost.
Kiri Osen [Mist Pollution]
Rank C | Specialization Ninjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Very Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 2 |
Description
Using the Kirigakure no Jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse mist into a specific area, they will also coat the mist with several chemicals and elements from within the surrounding environment. Anyone caught within this "polluted" mist will feel seasick while they are within the mist. Seasickness caused waves of nausea, vertigo, blurred vision, and intense headaches which are very hard to fight with. Once the mist is cleared or the target(s) leave the mist the seasickness wears off immediately.
Kirisame [Mist Rain]
Rank B | Specialization Ninjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Very Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 3 |
Description
Using the Kirigakure no Jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse a drizzle into a specific area, the mist like rain is not as thick as regular mist or a rampant as harsh rains. Because of this it can be seen through by those with above average visual ability. However this jutsu is not meant to impair vision as it is made to disrupt chakra of those within the jutsu's area od influence. This makes it harder for shinobi to mold chakra as any chakra that is not the same as the users chakra signature will be disrupted or jammed once the target has become exposed. This causes jutsu to fail unless the user uses much more chakra then they usually do in order to counteract the disruption (upping the chakra cost by one whole rank i.e. very low to low or high to very high). Also because the jutsu is mist and rain as well as the fact that it disrupts chakra, fire jutsu does not work while this jutsu is active. Also attempting to successfully use a jutsu that already has a Very High chakra cost could be very dangerous and potentially fatal. More experienced users of this jutsu can make it so that those whose chakra signature they are familiar with can use jutsu without issue.
Kiri Kankaku Kōtingu [Mist Sensory Coating]
Rank B | Specialization Ninjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Very Low | Range Long | # of Handseals 5 |
Description
Using the Kirigakure no Jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse mist into a specific area, the user is able to discern the presence of bodies that comes into direct contact with the mist. This sensing mist can be spread across a wide terrain, or even float in the air allowing aerial foes to be detected. Once the mist comes in contact with a person, it will wrap itself around them, rendering even invisible targets, visible.
Magen: Kijō no Rōkaku [Demonic Illusion: Steaming Multistoried Building]
Rank B | Specialization Genjutsu | Element |
Chakra Usage Medium | Range Long | # of Handseals 3 |
Description
Using Kirigakure no jutsu as a conduit the user of this jutsu will lace the mist with their chakra. Once the mist is laced with their chakra it becomes a conduit for the Genjutsu no matter the level of expertise with the jutsu their is no way to pinpoint targets and even allies will be caught in the Genjutsu. The Genjutsu is able to manifest realistic mirages using the mist because the mist and by extension the mirages are made from the users chakra even sensors can be fooled by this jutsu. As it is impossible for observers to distinguish from the real thing through normal methods, this property makes the technique ideal for concealing the actual location of the user, resulting in confusion among the opposition as their attacks are rendered ineffective and they attempt to ascertain the location of the user. However, in order to maintain the illusions, the mist must remain meaning that if you get rid of the mist you expel the Genjutsu. Though because of this the usual means of expelling the Genjutsu will not work.
